I must be having a wine kind of week because last night a friend and I decided to try out Simplicity Wine and Eats, which is right across the street from Apothecary. You can literally see people across the street drinking wine while you are also drinking wine. Simplicity is a no nonsense type of wine bar. They are also extremely environmentally conscience and claim to be almost a zero waste restaurant, meaning they recycle and compost everything.
The wine is reasonable inexpensive too. They even have a 30% off area on their menu, which seemed kind of strange, but then when you can get a tasty bottle of Tempranillo for $14 I am not complaining! The menu also has food and they are supposed to have really good tapas too, but unfortunately we just went for wine and dessert. The desserts were amazing. I got a French Toast Bread Pudding and Meghan got a Peppermint Cheesecake. The French Toast Bread Pudding was good, but not as good as the Peppermint Cheesecake! Seriously, it was so good. It made me think of Christmas time! It was a special item, so I hope they keep it on their menu all season.
I really enjoyed Simplicity’s front patio. With the weather so nice we could have sat out there for hours. With Simplicity, Apothecary and Vino Vino so close what is a girl supposed to do but go to them all!
